The South Wellington and Area Community Association (SWACA) is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented contract cleaner to provide regular cleaning at the South Wellington Community Centre.

This is a small, straightforward cleaning contract that we anticipate taking approximately 2 hours per visit. Cleaning will initially be required every two weeks, with the potential to move to weekly service as use of the Community Centre increases.

What You'll Be Cleaning

Regular cleaning will primarily include:

- Washrooms
- Small office space
- Small staff room
- Main hallway and entrance
- Emptying garbage and replacing liners
- General wiping, dusting, vacuuming/mopping and maintaining a clean, welcoming space

We are looking for someone who works quickly and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness. Attention to detail is important—we want someone who notices the little things and takes pride in leaving the space looking great.

Additional Cleaning Opportunities

There may also be opportunities for additional on-call/as-needed cleaning.

The Community Centre is rented for private events, meetings and other activities, and some renters may choose to pay for post-rental cleaning rather than completing the required cleaning themselves. We would like to have a cleaner available who may be interested in taking on these additional jobs as they arise.

Requirements

The successful contractor must:

- Be reliable and able to work independently
- Be detail-oriented, efficient and thorough




- Have previous professional cleaning experience
- Carry their own Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance
- Maintain active WorkSafeBC coverage
- Be able to provide proof of insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage

Compensation & Schedule

$30-$45/Hour

Approximately 2 hours every two weeks to start, with the possibility of increasing to weekly cleaning.

Additional cleaning may be available on an as-needed basis depending on Community Centre rentals and events.

We are looking for someone dependable who would be interested in building an ongoing relationship with SWACA as activity at the Community Centre continues to grow.
