Assistant Grower – Perennials, Trees & Shrub Location: Richmond, British Columbia, Canada (Must have a valid BC Driver’s License )

We are a premier supplier to commercial contractors, residential landscapers, major retailers, and municipal governments. As active members of the BC Landscape and Nursery Association (BCLNA) , we take pride in cultivating an expansive variety of premium perennials, shrubs, ornamental grasses, and trees.
We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Grower to join our team and help us continue providing superior green products to our diverse clients!
Core Responsibilities
- Crop Production: Assist in fertilizing and pruning perennial crops, trees, and shrubs to maximize healthy growth and meet our seasonal timing targets.
- Irrigation Control & Maintenance:Help manage and troubleshoot irrigation schedules to ensure optimal watering for diverse plant types. Perform hands-on fixes for irrigation pipes and watering equipment.
- Plant Health & IPM: Monitor crops daily, collect plant data,
and identify/control pests, diseases, Safely mix and apply fertilizers
- Facility Maintenance: Help take care of minor repairs and pipe fixes around the growing areas to keep operations running smoothly.
- Labor & Team Coordination:Communicate daily with the Grower to plan, organize, and smoothly execute labor schedules and tasks.
- Data & Analytics: Gather and analyze field data on both crop performance and labor efficiency using Microsoft Excel.
Requirements & Preferred Skills
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of Assistant Grower experience AND 1 year of greenhouse/nursery experience (Required).
- Crop Knowledge: Previous experience working with perennial crops, trees, or shrubs is highly preferred.
- Hands-on Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to fix irrigation pipes and handle minor repairs.
- Licenses: Valid British Columbia Driver’s License is required.
- Education: High school diploma required; a Horticulture diploma or degree is a solid asset.
- Languages: Fluent in English. Proficiency in Spanish is considered a major asset for team communication.
Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
