About Jabr’s Center for Autism

Jabr’s Center for Autism is a growing autism center dedicated to supporting children through individualized and collaborative care.

As a newly developing centre, we are building our clinical programs and interdisciplinary team from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity for a Speech-LanguagePathologist who is interested in providing direct clinical services and also in helping shape and grow the Speech-Language Pathology program as the centre expands.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team on a part-time basis initially, with the possibilityof increased hours and transition to a full-time position as our client base grows.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to actively contribute to developing the speech and communication services offered at the centre. As theprogram expands, there may also be opportunities to help build and provide clinical direction to a team of Communication Disorders Assistants (CDAs) and other appropriate support staff, in accordance with applicable professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each learner’s strengths and needs.
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to children and youth with autism and other developmental needs.
- Establish measurable communication goals and monitor client progress.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, progress notes and reports.




- Collaborate with families to understand their priorities and provide caregiver education and strategies for supporting communication at home.
- Collaborate with BCBAs, ABA therapists, educators, ECEs/ECAs and other professionals to support coordinated care.
- Provide recommendations for communication strategies that can be incorporated into classroom and therapeutic environments.
- Support learners who use or may benefit from AAC and other communication systems, where clinically appropriate.
- Assist in developing the centre’s speech-language programming, resources, procedures and service delivery model.
- As the program grows, assist with the development and clinical supervision of CDA services within the SLP’s professional scope and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, staff education and program development as required.

Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Registered and in good standing with the CASLPO
- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric speech, language, social communication and AAC intervention.
- Strong assessment,



treatment planning and clinical documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families and interdisciplinary professionals.
- Strong communication, organization and leadership skills.
- Interest in helping develop and grow a new clinical program is considered a strong asset.

Schedule

Part-Time initially – flexible based on client needs and availability.

Hours are expected to increase as enrollment and demand for speech-language services grow, with the possibility of transitioning to a full time positionin the future.
