Job Summary
We are a small business seeking a Tile Apprentice to join our team. No experience in setting Tile is required. However, at least one year in the construction industry is necessary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping to install tiles on various surfaces, ensuring precision and quality in the finished product.
We are looking for someone for the long term who is willing to learn and can quickly become an asset to our growing small business. Potential future benefits for the right candidate include a company provided vehicle, and bonus pay per project complete.
Our company completes Tile projects all over the south island, including Victoria, Saanich, Sooke, Etc. Willingness and ability to travel to the mentioned locations is required.
Our company specializes in high end custom Tile installation projects. As such, the expectations placed upon us may be higher than typically encountered in the construction industry at large. The ideal candidate is someone who leans into challenge, and has willingness to rise to the occasion.
Duties
- Measure and cut tiles to fit the installation area
- Prepare for tiling by leveling the surfaces
- Lay tiles in an aesthetically pleasing manner following blueprints or design plans
- Utilize hand tools such as tile cutters, trowels, and levels to complete installations
- Apply grout and sealant to ensure tiles are properly set and secured
- Perform caulking and other finishing touches to complete the tile installation
Qualifications
- Vehicle required
- Knowledge of general hand tools an asset
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or design plans
- Experience with finishing work is a plus
- One year in the construction industry is required
