Application Information The Ministry of Highways is seeking a Journeyperson Mechanic to join the Fleet Services Branch in Prince Albert. Candidates must possess a Saskatchewan-recognized Journeyperson Certificate as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, Truck and Transport Mechanic, or Agricultural Machinery Technician. Fourth-year apprentices may also be considered. A valid Class 3A driver's licence,



or the ability to obtain one during probation, is required.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of heavy equipment and vehicle repair, preventative maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic procedures.

Experience repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and fuel systems is required, along with knowledge of workplace safety standards and safe work practices.

Strong communication, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills are essential. Candidates must be able to prioritize work, maintain records, use computer software, perform mathematical calculations, and build positive working relationships. A commitment to safety and continuous improvement is important.

Responsibilities include inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining trucks, heavy equipment and highway maintenance machinery; performing preventative maintenance; modifying equipment and systems; and maintaining service records.
