Accounting Associate – Accounts Payable & Receivable
Location: London, Ontario

Position Summary
Scholar’s Choice is looking for an organized, accurate and productive Accounting Associate – Accounts Payable & Receivable to join our Finance team.
This is a hands-on accounting role responsible for the day-to-day processing of supplier invoices and customer payments. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a busy workplace, managing multiple priorities and maintaining a high level of accuracy while meeting daily deadlines.
The position reports directly to the Controller and will typically process up to 30 accounts payable invoices per day and up to 20 customer deposits per day.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, code and enter supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Match invoices to purchase orders, receipts and supporting documentation.
- Review invoices for pricing discrepancies, duplicate charges and other errors.
- Prepare approved invoices for scheduled supplier payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve outstanding items.
- Respond to supplier inquiries regarding invoices, credits and payments.
- Process and apply daily customer deposits and payments to the appropriate accounts.
- Investigate and resolve unidentified, short-paid, overpaid or misapplied customer payments.
- Process approved credits, refunds and account adjustments.
- Balance and reconcile daily AP and AR transactions.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and month-end accounting activities as required.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with the Controller and other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Maintain confidentiality of company, customer and supplier financial information.
- Provide additional accounting support as required.
These responsibilities reflect the core AP/AR activities in the existing positions,
including invoice processing, customer payment posting, deposits, reconciliations and discrepancy resolution. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who is naturally organized and enjoys completing a high volume of detailed work. You should be able to manage several priorities at once, work independently and take ownership of resolving issues rather than simply identifying them.
You will bring
- 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain productivity in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate discrepancies.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- NetSuite experience is preferred.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
