Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance Canada, the Accounts Payable Clerk supports the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the organization. The role is primarily responsible for accounts payable processing, invoice verification and matching, customs and duty invoice validation, account reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies. The Accounting Clerk ensures financial records are accurate and up to date while providing timely support to vendors and the accounting team.

Responsibilities

- Accounts payable and invoice processing
- Invoice matching, coding, and approval verification
- Customs and duty invoice validation
- Vendor account and statement reconciliations
- Investigation and resolution of discrepancies
- Payment status monitoring
- Vendor communication and issue resolution
- Maintenance of accurate financial records
- Support for accounting projects and other Finance activities
- Process and enter accounts payable invoices accurately and within established timelines
- Match invoices with supporting documentation and verify appropriate coding and approvals

Competencies

- DEC in Accounting, or other related fields
- 3 to 5 years of experience preferably with freights, logistics or customs experience
- Bilingual, both oral and written
- Familiarity with accounting software’s (Portolan an asset)
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for vendor and internal interactions.
- Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain a high level of organization
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions in this job grade, with the final offer depending on factors like experience, education, location, and other relevant considerations. Additionally, this role qualifies for extra benefits beyond the base pay range mentioned.
