About The Opportunity The Administrative Assistant is responsible for effectively providing confidential comprehensive administrative support to the Quality Improvement, Safety & Patient Relations portfolio and the Director’s and his/her manager’s offices. The position coordinates all administrative activities, acts as liaison between the various directors, managers and staff, facilitating communication, information management and retrieval, and meetings across Nova Scotia health. This position provides additional support to individuals, committees or working groups as assigned.

This position works closely with the Administrative Assistants in the Quality Improvement, Safety & Patient Relations portfolio, providing back up as required and supporting the portfolio team as required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program

- Medical terminology is an asset
- The Administrative Assistant requires a minimum of 2 years’ administrative experience.

- Experience working in a hospital or health-related environment is preferred.

- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal relationships with all levels of staff, prioritizing and organizational skills.

- Demonstrate competencies requiring advanced skills and abilities in all facets of modern office practices and technology and with information and meeting technologies.

- Experience utilizing technology in meeting planning to create efficiencies and streamline tracking and retrieval of information.

- Proficiency in typing accuracy and speed is essential





- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

- Permanent full time position; 37.5 hours biweekly

Compensation And Benefits

Pay Scale Type: Non-Union

Band: 02

Hourly Rate: $28.46 - $34.86

Annual Salary: $55,497 - $67,977
