Join the People & Culture team at CBC/Radio-Canada on an exciting journey dedicated to administering time, attendance, and compliance while maximizing and optimizing our Workday platform. We are currently seeking a energetic Administrative Specialist to join our HR Services team. In this role, you will bring your precision and expertise to provide crucial administrative support, resolve complex timekeeping discrepancies, audit records for compliance, and collaborate closely with timekeepers and other People & Culture teams to continuously improve our time-tracking processes.
Additionally, this role offers great professional growth,
with opportunities to cross train with our Expertise team in managing service dates, leave banks, and complex pay analysis. While work must conform to CBC/Radio-Canada operating standards, HR Policies, collective agreements, tax legislation, labour standards, and administrative procedures, this role encourages and requires independent judgment, analytical thinking, and independent decision-making within a complex environment. Review, process and approve employee timesheets in Workday to ensure accuracy and completeness, while adhering to strict, recurring deadlines to support seamless payroll processing.
Ensure compliance across all time tracking records and documentation with CBC/Radio-Canada operating standards, HR policies, collective agreements, provincial/federal labour standards, and tax legislation for audit readiness. Collaborate closely with the Payroll and Operations teams to ensure accurate wage calculations, retroactive pay adjustments, and seamless, timely payroll processing. Reconcile overtime, leave balances, holiday pay, and shift differential earnings to ensure accuracy.
Provide training and support to employees and managers on timekeeping procedures and Workday system navigation. Identify issues or improvement opportunities related to the Workday timekeeping module, collaborating with the Senior Specialist responsible for escalating and resolving issues with the People Systems and Analytics team.
Collaborate with the HR Services Expertise Team to develop your skills and support various activities, including service date calculations, complex leave bank management, and deep-dive pay analysis.
Minimum 2 years of experience in HR, Payroll or administrative operations within CBC/Radio-Canada or similar complex organization. Essential fluency in both English and French (written and spoken). Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy in data management.
Hands-on experience with pay processing systems, such as Workday combined with strong knowledge of HR policies, collective agreements, and federal/provincial labour standards. Flexibility to work overtime as required during peak periods. Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
