About the Role:

The Appliance Installer/Furniture Assembler plays a critical role in ensuring that customers receive fully functional and properly installed appliances and furniture in their homes or businesses.



This position requires meticulous attention to detail to assemble furniture accurately and install appliances safely according to manufacturer specifications and local regulations. The role involves direct interaction with customers, requiring professionalism and clear communication to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns during installation or assembly.

The successful candidate will manage their time efficiently to complete multiple installations and assemblies daily while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall customer experience by delivering reliable, safe, and aesthetically pleasing results that meet or exceed expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in appliance installation and furniture assembly or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely, often up to 50 pounds or more.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems relevant to appliance installation.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certification or training in appliance repair or installation.
- Experience using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with Canadian electrical and plumbing codes.
- Strong customer service experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.

Responsibilities:





- Assemble various types of furniture including but not limited to beds, tables, chairs, and storage units following detailed instructions and blueprints.
- Install household appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, and washing machines, ensuring proper connections to electrical, and plumbing systems as applicable.
- Inspect and test installed appliances and assembled furniture to confirm functionality and safety standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain installation processes, answer questions, and provide guidance on appliance or furniture use and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of completed installations and assemblies, including any issues encountered and resolutions provided.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working workplace for oneself and customers.
- Coordinate with team members and supervisors to schedule appointments and manage workload efficiently.

Skills: The required skills such as mechanical aptitude and physical dexterity are essential for assembling furniture accurately and installing appliances safely. Communication skills are used daily to interact with customers, ensuring they understand the installation process and feel confident in the use of their new appliances or furniture. Problem-solving skills help address unexpected challenges during installation or assembly, such as fitting issues or technical malfunctions. Time management skills enable the installer/assembler to complete multiple jobs efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

Preferred skills like familiarity with local codes and certification enhance the ability to perform installations that comply with regulations and improve overall service quality.
