Al-Pac) is seeking a Journeyperson Steamfitter-Pipefitter to work out of our Mill Site location in Athabasca County, Alberta . The successful candidate will be responsible for the lay out, assembly, fabrication, maintenance and repair of piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes. This is a 1 year contract with a compressed work schedule (Monday to Thursday).

Carry out steam-pipefitter maintenance and repair tasks, following detailed instructions and working under minimum supervision to complete the allocated tasks. Fabrication of new piping runs throughout the Millsite, following all regulatory specifications with detailed instructions to complete the allocated tasks. Interpretation and reading of Isometric drawings, mark-ups of these drawing to ensure as built piping fabrications and installations are accuracy documented working directly with “B” Pressure Welders.
Repairs to piping systems,
maintenance of manual valves, replace of gasketing and sealing materials on operational system. Replacement of safety devices, safety relief valves and rupture disc ensuring detailed documentation. Ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.
Working while always following safety protocols and workspace clear and hazards are controlled. Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization’s policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory and safety codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. 5 - 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing/forestry maintenance and service, or performing other steam fitting and related equipment and machinery fabrication, installation, repair and maintenance. ~ Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) is an asset. ~ Participation in a mechanical aptitude test and drug testing as a part of the recruitment process. Ability to work indoors (high temperature) and outdoors (sub-zero temperatures) at physically demanding tasks that often require climbing and lifting or moving heavy items.
