Techtree Engineering Ltd. is a privately owned company serving Western Canada. We provide consulting engineering services to multiple industries with a primary focus on Oil and Gas, Agricultural, and Commercial and Residential Buildings.

We have extensive experience in the design of handling equipment, structural design, well control, and downhole tools for the drilling and well servicing industries. We proudly serve the agricultural industry and benefit from several of our engineers having grown up using, modifying, and designing equipment to meet their own farming needs and continue to do so.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Architectural Drafter to join our team in our Buildings Division. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of building codes and regulations in Canada and be a self-starter with a strong work ethic. This is a remote position, so the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members is a must.

Responsibilities

- Design and drafting for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings with respect to architectural and structural details
- Interpret and apply building codes and regulations to project plans and designs
- Create detailed drawings and specifications for various issue stages of construction projects
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project plans are accurate and compliant




- Review project submittals and shop drawings
- Assist with project coordination and construction administration
- Provide technical support to other team members

Qualifications:
- A technical diploma, certificate, or training in building design, drafting, or related field
- Experience as a building drafter in residential or commercial construction industry
- Extensive knowledge of building codes and regulations in Canada
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in Revit and other drafting software
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Must live in Canada

Assets:
- Experience with BIM or 3D software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Tekla
- Knowledge of sustainable building design and practices
- LEED or other green building certification
- Experience with parametric 3D modelling software such as Solidworks, Inventor
- Experience with foundation design/drafting
