Assistant Project Manager – Retirement Community Construction
Location: Oakville, ON (Project Site)
Compensation: $100,000 to $130,000 + bonus + benefits
Project: 6-Storey Retirement Community
Employment: Full-Time | Immediate Start
Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join their team in Oakville and support the delivery of a 6-storey retirement community project.
This is an excellent opportunity for an APM with strong construction experience who is looking to take on greater project responsibility and work closely with the Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, and site team.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in the planning and execution of the 6-storey retirement community project
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams
- Assist with project schedules, budgets, procurement, and overall project documentation
- Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and site instructions
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Track project progress, costs, commitments, and potential issues
- Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action items
- Coordinate closely with the site team to ensure construction activities remain on schedule
- Assist with quality control, deficiencies, inspections, and project closeout
- Maintain robust communication with project stakeholders and help resolve issues as they arise
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar construction project role
- Strong experience in residential construction
- Experience with multi-storey construction is an asset
- Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, scheduling, and project documentation
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and priorities effectively
- Proficiency with MS Office and construction/project management software
- Construction-related education is an asset
- Available to start immediately
Compensation & Benefits
- Up to $130,000 base salary, depending on experience
