Job Summary The Assistant Superintendent assists the Superintendent in overseeing the day-to-day field operations of all field staff for the construction project, as well as quality control. The Assistant Super supports establishing and implementing safety policies and procedures, coordinating field activities, and adhering to the project schedule. This position is responsible for ensuring quality workmanship and project completion within budget.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety

- Complete training program to qualify as the competent person on site for crisis management and first response to emergencies.
- Assists Superintendent in conducting safety documentation and records.

Project Coordination

- Collaborate with the Superintendent to plan and coordinate construction project. Assist in scheduling tasks, managing resources, and ensuring adherence to project timelines.
- Assists Superintendent in scheduling, managing resources and ensuring project timelines.
- Works with the Superintendent in managing job to completion with minimal punch list items.
- Assists Superintendent in the job site set up, clean up & site security.

Schedule

- Works with Superintendent in maintaining & distributing of material, receiving, inventory logs and filing.
- Works with the Superintendent, General Superintendent, and the Project Manager to resolve any issues that could impact the schedule and/or budget.

Quality

- Works with the Superintendent in implementing the quality control program.
- Responsible for ensuring drawing details match what is executed in the field
- Continuously monitor job progress and compliance with contract documents

Document Control

- Maintain accurate Quality Control reports within Procore
- Oversee photo documentation for daily progress & complete weekly reports




- Assist the Superintendent in tracking and avoiding back charges for Time & Material
- Maintain daily logs, reports & submittals

Client Relations

- Adheres to and promotes all company goals and objectives creating Client satisfaction
- Attend & participate in weekly / monthly Owner & Subcontractor meetings

Team Leadership

- Build positive Relationships with the Project Manager & Superintendent with effective communication.
- Assist in managing and directing construction crews & subcontractors
- Team Player

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Associates Degree with at least 2+ years of direct on-site management of construction projects that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; or Journeymen license in one of the trade disciplines
- Read and understand schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals.
- OSHA 30
- Microsoft suite applications and Microsoft Project a plus.
- Travel required up to 90% of the time
- Salary is commensurate of education, years of experience, and market

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Demonstrate advanced proficiency by quickly adapting to new technology and readily acquiring new technical skills.
- Proficient in all Microsoft suite applications including Word, Excel, as well as Onedrive and network locations for approved forms, and reports.
- Moderate to Advanced skill in Procore software

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.




- Knowledge of architectural design and planning principles and procedures.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work setting.
- Technical knowledge of building components and their function.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and/or supervision to subcontractors.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
- Must be flexible for overnight or extended stays out of town.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
- Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.
- Moderate physical activity. May require physical effort including lifting up to 25 pounds and some extended periods of standing or walking.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

Pay: $90,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
