About the Position
We are looking for an experienced and dependable AZ Truck Driver / Equipment Float Operator to join our civil construction team.
This is a full-time position with a varied workload. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting construction equipment, delivering materials, and operating tri-axle dump trucks as required.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, operates equipment safely, and is comfortable working as part of a construction crew.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate AZ trucks, tri-axle dump trucks, and equipment float trailers
- Float excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other construction equipment between job sites
- Deliver aggregates, soil, pipe, concrete products, and other construction materials
- Operate tri-axle dump trucks for hauling granular material, soil, and other materials
- Load and unload equipment and materials safely
- Properly secure equipment and loads in accordance with applicable requirements
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Identify and report mechanical issues or maintenance requirements
- Maintain accurate delivery tickets, inspection records, and other required documentation
- Assist construction crews with loading, unloading, and general site activities when required
- Maintain a clean and qualified truck and equipment
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures
- Work cooperatively with project managers, foremen, equipment operators, and other members of the construction team
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario AZ driver's licence
- Minimum 3 years of relevant AZ driving experience required
- Experience hauling construction equipment and operating equipment floats
- Experience operating tri-axle dump trucks
- Strong knowledge of load securement and commercial vehicle safety requirements
- Clean or acceptable driver's abstract
- Ability to complete thorough daily vehicle inspections
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify potential equipment issues
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Able to work independently and as part of a construction crew
- Good communication skills
- Previous experience in civil construction is strongly preferred
