In business since 1994, 24 Carrots Bakery is a busy wholesale/retail bakery located in the north end of Halifax. We have an opening for a Part time (leading to full time) Packager on our bread baking shift (2 to 4 night-backshift shifts per week).

Packaging involves slicing, bagging, and labeling fresh breads, buns, and rolls; and sorting orders for delivery to customers.

We are seeking a candidate with a preference for working Backshift, has excellent organizational skills, and works well as part of a team.

Position requirements

- Previous experience working NIGHTS and BACKSHIFTS is preferred
- Experience with FOOD HANDLING
- Experience working in a bakery or other food establishment is preferred
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks well and in a consistent manner
- Comfortable working in the heat
- Commercial cleaning (tables, surfaces, dishwasher, floors, bathrooms)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English




- Good numeracy skills- Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Current Food Handler Certificate considered an asset.
- Criminal Record Check will be required

Night/backshifts begin at 8:00 - 9:00 PM, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Tuesday or Wednesday depending on business levels. Weekends off. We thank all applicants but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
