Our award-winning TEMPO Food+Drink restaurant serves up hearty, authentic Canadian comfort food, handcrafted cocktails and Instagram worthy specials in a lively and vibrant setting. Reporting to the Sous Chef, this individual will be responsible for providing consistent and quality food offerings while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction.

We are seeking a 1st Cook to provide leadership to the back-of-house team.

What you will be doing:

- prepping food items for service
- preparing food according to standardized recipes and menu specifications
- adjusting cooking methods based on customer preferences or dietary restrictions
- training staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- planning menus, determining size of food portions, estimating food requirements and costs
- checking inventory and making sure ingredients are available for daily use
- reporting low stock and helping with inventory management
- collaborating with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations

The person we are looking for has:





- 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, high performing restaurant
- experience supervising or managing a team is considered a plus
- red seal certification is an asset
- experience with food ordering and inventories
- professional cooking and knife handling skills
- strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- the proven ability to plan and prioritize
- flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
