Job Summary
Noel Booth Child Care is seeking an energetic, dedicated, and caring Before and After School Lead Educator to join our team. Located right on the grounds of Noel Booth Elementary, our program offers a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for school-age children.
This position features a split-shift schedule covering both morning (7:30 AM – 9:30 AM) and afternoon (2:00 PM – 5:30 PM), totaling 5.5 hours per day (27.5 hours per week).
In this role, you will lead daily program activities, maintain active supervision, and foster positive, respectful relationships with students, parents, and school staff. Shift Hours & Working Schedule
- Work Days: Monday through Friday
- Shift Breakdown:
- Morning Shift: 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM (2 hours)
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM (3.5 hours)
- Total Hours: 5.5 hours per day / 27.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Active Supervision & Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children at all times during outdoor play, gym activities, room transitions, and program hours in compliance with BC Licensing regulations.
- Program Planning & Leadership: Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging activities including arts and crafts, group games, sports, and outdoor exploration.
- Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with co-educators to maintain a positive, well-organized, and welcoming classroom atmosphere.
- Parent & School Communication: Build warm, professional relationships with families, providing friendly daily updates during drop-off and pick-up.
- Daily Operations: Assist with classroom setup, snack prep, tidying/sanitizing routines, and basic record-keeping (attendance/incident logs).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: ECE (Early Childhood Educator) or ECEA (ECE Assistant) certification preferred, or relevant experience working with school-age children.
- First Aid: Current Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain).
- Clearances: Clear Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector).
- Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, active supervision, and a positive, team-oriented mindset.
- Punctuality & Reliability: Dependable attendance and punctuality for both morning and afternoon shifts.
