Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Business Clerk in the Orthopedic Clinic Call Centre provides clerical, administrative & business support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care among the three Orthopedic Clinics. Functions according to the for Business Clerks.

- Graduate of community college secretarial/medical office administration program
- 2-3 years of recent relevant medical office experience
- Successful completion and documentation of Level 1 and Level 2 Medical Terminology course
- Knowledge and skill in using computer systems including Meditech Software, PCI, Community Wide Scheduling, Patient Registration and PACS
- Keyboarding 40 WPM
- Demonstrated excellence in effective communication and interpersonal skills within a professional call centre environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in using computers (MS Windows, MS Office, MS Outlook)




- Demonstrated proficient use of an automated telecommunications system
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and manage time effectively in a quick-paced environment
- Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, public-relations and problem-solving skills
- Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly
- Demonstrated ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position and to maintain discretion
- Ability to sit for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending

Medical terminology, computer and typing skills will be tested
