NURA Medical builds NurEx, clinical decision support software for medication safety in emergency departments and other high-acuity hospital settings. We're still a small team, which means every person we hire actually moves the needle, and we need people who can pick things up without a lot of hand-holding.
About the role
We're looking for someone to work directly with our COO across execution, operations, client implementation, and stakeholder management. It's hard to describe this job with one clean title because the work changes week to week. Some weeks you're running a hospital's onboarding from signed contract to live, trained users. Other weeks you're building a tracker for a compliance audit, flying to a conference to represent NURA, or coordinating with our pharmacy team on product feedback.
You'll start by picking up pieces of existing projects and owning them fully. Over time, as you get a feel for how we operate, you'll take on whole workstreams yourself, including full ownership of how our hospital partners go live and stay engaged.
What you'll actually do
- Take a goal and turn it into a plan, then run it, and tell us when something's off track before it becomes a fire
- Write the first draft of things (decks, grants, updates, internal comms, requirements, etc.) well enough that it just needs a quick review, not a rewrite
- Build the trackers and lightweight systems that keep a small, busy team from dropping balls, and keep them updated
- Own client implementation end-to-end: from signed contract through customization, training, and go-live.
- Own the relationship with nurses, pharmacists, and clinical leads at our partner hospitals: you're the person they call when something's unclear or off track
- Organize training & onboarding for new sites and new users, help support on-site client implementations when needed.
- Communicate A LOT: async comms and updates are essential to keep a hybrid team running smoothly
- Lead office day-to-day operations and facilitate team events
Who we think will do well here
- 2-5 years of experience, ideally strategy or management consulting, a structured analyst program, or an early role at a fast-moving startup (employee #1 through #15)
- You take initiative: when something isn't working, you fix it; when you see an opportunity, you flag it
- You know how to take a messy, half-formed problem and figure out a plan for it, without waiting to be told how
- You get things done efficiently and leverage AI to speed you up, but never ship something you haven't challenged and reviewed thoroughly
- You've handled a stakeholder relationship before and have a feel for when to push, when to escalate, and when to just quietly sort it out
- You're highly analytical and very comfortable with numbers
- You're very organized because that's just how your brain works, not because a job made you that way
- You'd rather be good at five different things than outstanding at one, range appeals to you more than specializing right now
- You're high-energy, very coachable, curious, and hungry to learn new things
- Comfortable operating in a regulated, patient-safety-adjacent environment
- Healthcare, hospital admin, health science, or clinical-adjacent experience is a genuine plus, not required
What probably won't work out
- You need a clearly scoped role to feel effective
- You have trouble switching context and multitasking
- You're uncomfortable with ambiguity and change
- You're great with checklists but tend to stall when the brief is fuzzy
Why take this job
You'll be closer to real company decisions than most generalist roles at this level get you. If you're after a Chief-of-Staff-track or an entrepreneurial career, or you just want the fastest possible crash course in how an early-stage healthtech company actually runs, this is a pretty good place to get it.
