Cable Assembler – Afternoon Shift – Guelph, ON Canada

As a Cable Assembler, you will work within our manufacturing team assembling electronics cables including stripping and cutting wire, crimping, inserting, soldering, and testing. This may involve working with assorted hand tools, semi-automatic crimping equipment, soldering iron etc. Other duties may include assisting with soldering printed circuit boards assemblies.

Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and strong commitment to quality are essential. The ideal candidate is adaptable to changing demands and thrives inn a supportive team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Follow detailed written instructions, drawings & specifications for hands-on fabrication and production assembly of electronic cables and wire harnesses

Measure cables to specified length for cutting

Wrapping casing around different types of wires

Hand and machine crimp terminals and insert terminals into connectors

Achieve and adhere to a high level of quality of work produced

Perform quality testing on electronic circuit boards as required

Required Skills & Qualifications:

2+ years experience with cable and harness assembly

Experience with wire stripping, crimping, cable and harness assembly

Experience with automated and manual equipment, hand tools, power tools, jigs and saws

Successful completion of high school diploma

Be adaptable to changing demands and support a team work environment

Sound communication skills

Experience operating a computer would be an asset

Able to work independently

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Strong understanding of embedded hardware systems

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, block diagrams, schematics, and blueprint drawings

Good manual dexterity demonstrating fine motor skills for working with small components (hand-eye coordination)

Ability to use hand tools (common, pin crimpers, wire strippers, torque drivers, etc.)

Ability to install mounts, brackets, cables, connectors,



electronic equipment, thermal solutions and labels

Solid English language comprehension is a must

Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Must be able to follow direction and have good interpersonal communication skills

Additional Assets

Hands-on experience in electronics cable assembly, including wire preparation, crimping, insertion, and modification

Understanding of IPC-A-620 workmanship standards

Soldering experience including fine-tip hand soldering, touch-up, and rework of printed circuit boards using surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole components (required)

Ability to understand and meet IPC-A-610 workmanship standards

Practical training and experience with ESD procedures and operation of essential tools such as microscopes, soldering irons, and precision assembly equipment

Demonstrated manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination for handling small, delicate components

Strong English comprehension for reading, and following technical instructions

Ability to follow direction, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with team members

Adaptable and responsive to changing production priorities, supporting a positive team environment

Able to focus, work independently, and complete assigned tasks with accuracy and consistency

Willingness and ability to work overtime when required
