Job Summary:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Care Workers to join our team as a Causal staff member In this role, you will be responsible for providing support and care to children and youth in a residential setting. Your primary focus will be on creating a safe and nurturing environment, promoting emotional well-being, and facilitating positive development.

Responsibilities:

- Provide daily care, supervision and guidance to children and youth in a residential facility.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and development.
- Implement and follow established care plans for each child/youth, addressing their unique needs and goals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive approach to child/youth care.
- Facilitate and participate in recreational activities, educational programs, and therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of resident progress and incidents.
- Respond effectively to crisis or challenging behaviors, implementing de-escalation techniques as needed.

Qualifications:

- Minimum high school diploma or previous experience in residential care settings or similar environments
- Strong understanding of child development. Trauma-informed care, and therapeutic interventions




- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Requirements:

- MCFD criminal record check
- Valid driver’s license (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Tuberculosis Test (or willingness to obtain) Physician letter to verify ability to work in this field (in house form will be provided to bring to physician)
- Mandt training (or willingness to obtain)
- Food Safe Training (or willingness to obtain)
- Naloxone Training (or willingness to obtain)

Schedule:
- 8 Hour Shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am)
- Night shifts
- Day Shifts
- Evening Shifts
- On call
- Weekends as needed

Licence/Certification:
- Driving License Class 5 (required)

Work Location: In person Job Type: Casual Staff, with opportunities to move into a Part-Time or Full-Time line depending on operational needs.
