G. Douglas Vallee is open to engineers at various career stages, from developing professionals ready to grow into greater responsibility to experienced engineers capable of independently leading projects, clients and teams.

This is a hands-on position that combines engineering design, project management, field involvement and team leadership. You'll work closely with private developers and municipal clients, coordinate with stakeholders, prepare proposals, manage project priorities and provide technical direction to Civil Engineering Technologists throughout the design and construction process.

What They Offer

Compensation: $85,000–$125,000 plus, depending on experience.

Work Arrangement: This position is primarily based in-office in Simcoe, ON,



with project inspection responsibilities throughout the Oxford County, Haldimand County, Brant County and Norfolk County regions. Some hybrid flexibility may be available for senior-level candidates, depending on experience and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Project management from start to finish for large-scale private development and municipal linear infrastructure projects, including:
- Subdivision and other residential developments
- Commercial/Industrial/Institutional development site plans
- Road reconstructions
- Manage day-to-day project activities, coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and assist with proposals and project planning.
- Work directly with private developers, municipal clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare engineering designs:
- Sewer and watermain systems
- Stormwater management systems
- Roadway and municipal infrastructure projects
- Site servicing and grading plans
- Complete engineering work while providing technical direction and guidance to Civil Engineering Technologists and Technicians.
- QA/QC review of submission packages at the various stages of the approval process.
- Prepare construction tender documents including front end, specifications, special provisions and schedule of items and prices for tendering purposes.
- Administer the construction phase of public and private sector infrastructure projects:
- Conduct various pre-construction and site meetings
- Review contractor submissions




- Discussions and negotiations with contractors
- Monitor construction progress versus specific timelines
- Review and approve payment certificates
- Coordinate inspection staff
- Client management with both public and private sector clients.
- Interpret and apply municipal design standards, guidelines, and engineering specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, technologists, technicians, clients, developers, and municipal stakeholders.
- Assist with project coordination and maintain strong client relationships.
- Work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Education in Civil Engineering Science and licensed as a P.Eng. by the PEO.
- Experience in the Civil/Land Development sector. Candidates with varying levels of experience will be considered.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with Visual OTTHYMO, or an equivalent hydrologic modelling software.
- Experience designing and overseeing the design of:
- Grading and servicing plans
- Plan and profile drawings
- Stormwater management plans
- Section and detailed drawings
- Base plans
- Understanding of Site Plan and Subdivision development processes, as well as municipal client-based projects.
- Experience working with private developers and an understanding of the expectations and priorities associated with private development projects.
- Experience with fieldwork, including detailed topographic site surveys and construction field inspections.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply engineering design standards and guidelines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to provide clear technical direction to Technologists and understand the drafting and design work required to successfully complete projects.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with access to a reliable vehicle
