Job Summary

We are a civil engineering consulting firm seeking a Civil Construction Coordinator / Construction Monitor to support land development and municipal infrastructure projects throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.

This role combines field construction monitoring with construction administration and coordination. Duties include site visits, reviewing construction against civil drawings and specifications, coordinating with contractors and project stakeholders, preparing documentation, and assisting project engineers with construction-related issues.

You will not be expected to make independent engineering or design decisions. However, you will be expected to review available project information, investigate routine issues, and communicate findings or recommended next steps to the project engineer.

We welcome both experienced candidates and recent Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology graduates. We are willing to train and provide support based on experience. Candidates with practical civil construction or site-servicing experience who are interested in moving into a consulting role are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

- Conduct site visits and prepare construction monitoring reports.
- Review drawings, RFIs, testing results and other construction documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, clients, municipalities and testing agencies.




- Track deficiencies and outstanding construction items through resolution.
- Assist with progress claims, close-out documentation and other construction administration.
- Manage multiple active projects independently, including field visits, construction administration, coordination and follow-up.

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related experience.
- Ability to read and understand civil construction drawings.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and organizational skills.
- Civil site servicing, land development or construction inspection experience is an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle are required. Business mileage is reimbursed.
- Candidates based in or near the Fraser Valley are preferred.

Position Details Salary: $64,000–$84,000 per year, depending on experience
