Chimax is extensively involved in engineering and design of power infrastructure – electrical substations, switching stations, transmission lines and distribution lines.

Currently

Chimax is looking for an intermediate drafter who can work closely with engineers and take part in drawings as required using Auto CAD. The successful candidate will work with the engineering and drafting team and will be responsible for drafting of engineering drawings relating to substation steel structures, equipment foundations, transmission lines and distribution lines, shop drawings and steel fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities:

· Perform design work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out technical assignments

· Work on a variety of projects,



deliver engineering design for structural steel and foundation for substation design projects

· Participate in design review meetings

· Work well in team environment

· Prepare drawings in Auto CAD and other relevant software as required

· Participate in meeting with clients

Requirements:

· Experience in civil/structural/foundation drafting

· Progressive structural drafting/design experience working on civil/structural projects preferably within engineering consulting environment serving the energy industry

· Knowledge of steel and concrete structures

· Knowledge of CSA and other relevant Canadian standards

· Experience with substation, transmission line and distribution line drafting will be considered an asset

· More than 5 years work experience in AutoCAD

· Strong knowledge of any of these following: Microstation, Civil 3D, Revit and Auto CAD Inventor

· Occasional travel to job site may be required
