About the Role

Collective Waste Solutions is looking for a Class 3 Waste Collection Driver to join our Edmonton operations team.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste materials along designated routes using assigned trucks and equipment. You'll play an important role in delivering reliable service to our customers while maintaining a strong focus on safety, equipment care, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

- Safely operate assigned trucks, vehicles, and waste collection equipment.
- Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections each day.
- Follow assigned routes, work plans, and instructions provided by the Supervisor.
- Perform daily duties independently while maintaining communication with the operations team.
- Complete and submit work orders, daily logs, equipment maintenance records, incident reports, and safety documentation accurately and on time.
- Ensure trucks, tools, and equipment are safely secured and stored when not in use.
- Identify equipment issues and promptly communicate maintenance or repair requirements to the Supervisor.
- Maintain a high standard of care and cleanliness for assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Communicate regularly with the Supervisor regarding work progress, resources, operational concerns, and customer service.
- Proactively identify and address hazardous conditions to help ensure safe and successful operations.
- Follow all company and client safety procedures with the goal of achieving zero incidents, lost-time injuries, and property damage.




- Perform other operational duties as required, including operating different types of equipment as trained and qualified.
- Work extended hours occasionally when required to ensure assigned routes and work are completed.

Required qualifications:

- Valid Class 3 Driver's Licence with Air Brake (Q) endorsement.
- 2–4 years of truck driving or equipment operating experience.
- Previous waste collection experience is considered an asset.
- General mechanical aptitude and a working knowledge of trucks and operational equipment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to follow and demonstrate proper spotting techniques.
- A strong commitment to safe work practices and customer service.
- Ability to identify potential hazards and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.

Additional Requirements

- Valid Class 1 licence with Air Brake (Q) endorsement is an asset.
- Successful completion of a Drug & Alcohol test.
- Must be willing and able to work occasional extended shifts when required to complete assigned work.

Physical Requirements This is a physically active, hands-on position. You must be able to:

- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Sit for extended periods while operating a truck.
- Perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
- Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Safely enter and exit vehicles and work around waste collection equipment.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week

Experience:
- residential waste collection: 1 year (preferred)
- operating side load truck: 1 year (preferred)
