Expand VAW services as a Rural Community Development and Outreach Worker with IHOH. This full time role involves engaging rural communities and developing pathways to essential support services. Reporting to the Manager of Community Programs, this permanent position at IHOH focuses on outreach and community engagement.
You will identify barriers women face in accessing violence against women (VAW) services and develop proactive strategies for improvement. Utilizing an intersectional and trauma-informed approach, your work will amplify awareness of IHOH services across rural Hamilton. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage rural communities to promote access to VAW services
- Conduct community mapping to identify service gaps
- Develop outreach strategies for underserved populations
- Strengthen referral pathways with local organizations
- Provide education on gender-based violence issues Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Social Work or related field
- 3-5 years experience in women's services or outreach
- Knowledge of rural VAW-related barriers
- Proficiency with community resources and support systems
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Elevate community access to VAW support through proactive engagement and relationship-building.
