Position Overview The Estimator turns qualified customer opportunities into accurate, profitable, and clearly documented estimates for Rimrock’s construction, design-build, maintenance, irrigation, and related work.

You own the estimating process from complete scope intake through pricing, internal review, proposal preparation, and handoff support. Your work protects margin, helps customers understand what they are buying, and gives operations the information needed to deliver the work successfully.

- Estimate turnaround: Most standard estimates are completed within 2 to 3 business days after receiving complete scope information.
- Margin protection: Estimates are priced within approved company standards, with exceptions identified before submission.
- Proposal clarity: Customers can understand inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, timing, and next steps.
- Handoff quality: Awarded work is transferred with complete information and minimal avoidable surprises for operations.

- Daily: Review estimating priorities, build or revise estimates, update LMN records, and identify missing information.
- Weekly: Review open estimates, turnaround times, proposal status, upcoming deadlines, and blocked opportunities.
- Monthly: Review estimate versus actual performance, margin trends, scope gaps, template accuracy, and pricing updates.

Seasonal shifts

- Spring and summer may emphasize construction, design-build, maintenance enhancements, irrigation, and active project estimating.
- Fall and winter may emphasize snow opportunities, maintenance renewals, next-season planning, and pricing updates.
- The exact seasonal workload should be set by the Owner based on pipeline and division needs.

Communication norms

- Keep estimate status, next steps, and deadlines current in LMN.
- Identify missing information as soon as it is discovered.
- Communicate material pricing or subcontractor changes before proposal submission.
- Escalate margin, scope, schedule, and risk concerns early rather than explaining them after award.

- You have complete scope information before investing time in detailed pricing.
- Your estimates are built from current templates and cost data.

6. Required Skills and Qualifications

- Experience in estimating, landscape construction, maintenance, irrigation, construction, project coordination, purchasing, or a comparable field.
- Ability to read plans, drawings, specifications, site notes, and scope documents.
- Strong understanding of labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and production-cost estimating.
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of deadlines.
- Ability to identify scope gaps, assumptions, exclusions, and project risks.
- Comfortable communicating with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and operations staff.
- Able to learn and consistently use LMN.
- Strong written communication for proposals, notes, and handoff documentation.
- Landscape industry experience is preferred. Strong estimating experience in construction or a related trade may be transferable.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
