Aviation Cybersecurity Engineering Skilled
Montreal, QC | Contract (24 to 36 months) | Hybrid, 2 to 3 days onsite | Starting October 2026
About the role
We're looking for an Aviation Cybersecurity Engineering Professional to join a Montreal-based aerospace team on a long-term contract. This is a role with two sides to it. You'll be helping write the cybersecurity practices and processes the organization works to, and you'll be applying those practices directly on live projects across a range of business aircraft platforms.
There's a research and technology element as well, so you get to shape how the work is done rather than just follow a process someone else wrote.
Contract-to-hire candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
What you'll be doing
- Developing and documenting cybersecurity practices, processes and standards for aircraft systems
- Applying those practices across platforms and on in-flight design changes
- Supporting aircraft system integration and civil aircraft certification activities from a security standpoint
- Contributing to research and technology work that improves how the team approaches airworthiness security
- Working with engineering teams across disciplines to embed security into system design
What you bring
- A university engineering degree in Software, Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 6 years in a technical engineering field,
including at least 2 years in cybersecurity of networks and systems and at least 2 years in aerospace
- General knowledge of computer network architectures, electronics, operating systems and software programming
- Familiarity with general aircraft system integration and civil aircraft certification (working knowledge is highly desired)
- Knowledge of IT and/or Aviation Information Security Management System principles
- Strong written and spoken English. Functional French is an asset
Highly desired
Working knowledge of aviation cybersecurity standards and guidance:
- ED-201A / DO-391, Aeronautical Information System Security Framework Guidance
- ED-202B / DO-326B, Airworthiness Security Process Specification
- ED-203A / DO-356A, Airworthiness Security Methods and Considerations
- ED-204A / DO-355A, Information Security Guidance for Continuing Airworthiness
- ED-206 / DO-392, Guidance on Information Security Event Management
- CS 25.1319, Equipment, systems and network information protection
Who does well here
You work autonomously and don't need much supervision to get moving. You're organized, self-motivated and comfortable under pressure. You take initiative, adapt when the work shifts, and you're able to influence people who don't report to you. You care about doing it properly.
