The Cultivation Systems Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the established plant nutrition, and root zone programs across the greenhouse production compartments and the nursery. This is a hands-on production role encompassing soil and leaf tissue sampling, interpretation of laboratory results, recipe and drench management, daily irrigation execution, and the maintenance and troubleshooting of the irrigation and dosing equipment that supports these programs.

Program direction, targets, and standards are set by the Alternate Grower and Cultivation leadership. The successful candidate is accountable for delivering against them consistently, maintaining the systems and equipment that support them, and bringing forward improvements supported by data. The role also carries a reciprocal cross-training commitment with the Climate and IPM Specialists, enabling the team to provide coverage during planned absences.

Coverage is time-bound and scoped to core tasks and correct escalation; it does not constitute a second full-time workload.

This role will be based out of our Pacifica facility in Delta, BC, and will report to the Cultivation Systems Manager.

What You’ll Do

- Execute the nutrition program, drench calendar, and stage-specific nutrition roadmaps to the targets set by the Alternate Grower and Cultivation leadership, ensuring all inputs remain organic-compliant.
- Maintain the soil and leaf tissue sampling program on schedule – sampling technique, labelling standards, and laboratory submissions – and interpret the results received.
- Execute daily irrigation in PRIVA, including substrate moisture checks, dry-back management, and root zone EC/pH and runoff targets.
- Act as first responder for irrigation faults – solenoids, injectors and dosing units, pumps, filters, pressure regulators, valves, drip lines, and emitters – escalating repairs beyond scope to Maintenance team.
- Maintain the nutrition dashboard and report trends, deviations, and recommendations with supporting data.
- Manage consumable inventory, weekly and month-end counts,



and the accurate posting of crop treatments in the ERP.
- Maintain SOPs and work instructions, administer change controls with Quality Assurance, and train and audit the team on nutrition, mixing, sampling, and irrigation techniques.
- Conduct approved nutrition and irrigation trials and translate the results into standard practice.
- Provide Climate and IPM coverage on assigned days during planned absences, scoped to core tasks and correct escalation.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the cultivation team during peak periods, crop transitions, staffing gaps, and operational events.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must Have

- Minimum three years of hands-on greenhouse or controlled-environment agriculture experience executing nutrition, fertigation, or root zone programs; five or more years preferred.
- Experience across different types of growing systems and growing media.
- Practical experience managing feed and nutrient solution, EC/pH and runoff control, and irrigation strategy within a commercial growing system.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of irrigation and fertigation hardware – solenoids, injectors and dosing units, pumps, filters, pressure regulators, valves, drip lines, and emitters – including the diagnosis of uneven distribution, flow and pressure faults, and blockages.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret soil and leaf tissue laboratory results and translate them into recipe or irrigation adjustments.
- Experience executing irrigation within an automated control system (PRIVA or equivalent), including substrate moisture management and dry-back interpretation.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, including maintaining dashboards and identifying trends across recurring datasets.
- Demonstrated accuracy working within a transactional ERP or inventory management system, including recording consumption, performing counts, and reconciling variances.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent demonstrated experience in Horticulture, Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, Agriculture, or a related field.




- Willingness to cross-train into the core tasks of climate and IPM, and to obtain BC pesticide applicator certification within 90 days of hire if not already held.

Nice to Have

- Direct experience with D365 / Agriware, or a comparable ERP used for crop treatment posting and inventory reconciliation.
- Experience within a federally licensed cannabis facility and with organic certification requirements.
- Experience training production staff and authoring SOPs or work instructions from practical knowledge.

Position Details

- Greenhouse production compartments, nursery and propagation, soil handling and mixing areas, and input storage – with gowning, hygiene, and biosecurity protocols throughout. Daily exposure to cultivation soil, fertilizers, organic amendments, biological controls, and approved crop protection products.
- Standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50lbs, and working in variable humidity and temperature, combined with desk-based data and ERP work.
- In office 5 days per week, with the schedule to be determined in coordination with the Alternate Grower. After-hours, or statutory holiday coverage, including participation in the after-hours alarm response rotation during climate coverage periods.
- Must be able to pass a federal criminal background check as required under the Cannabis Regulations.

- Base salary of $60K–$70K.
