Schedule: Hybrid — in-office Tuesdays & Wednesdays, remote remaining days

About the Role

We're hiring a Data Architect on behalf of our client for a 6-month contract engagement. This role is responsible for defining, designing, governing, and evolving the client's enterprise data architecture — translating business needs into target-state architectures, data models, integration patterns, and roadmaps that enable secure, reliable, and consistent use of data across the organization.

You'll act as the subject matter expert and design authority for data architecture, integration, metadata, lineage, and data platform patterns, partnering with business stakeholders, security, technology teams, and vendors.

What You'll Do

- Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture roadmap, target-state architecture, and data models
- Establish data architecture standards, patterns, and governance for technology projects
- Design scalable cloud data platforms ( Azure, Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Synapse ) including Bronze/Silver/Gold layers
- Define standards for ETL/ELT pipelines and oversee integrations across enterprise applications ( Dynamics 365, Dataverse,



ERP, CRM )
- Support data governance: metadata management, lineage, data quality, and master data management
- Design semantic models supporting Power BI, analytics, and AI/ML (including GenAI and RAG)
- Provide technical leadership to data engineers/analysts and manage external vendors

What You Bring

- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Management, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in data architecture, data engineering, or integration, with accountability for enterprise architecture decisions
- 5+ years in data warehousing, reporting architecture, and BI solutions
- Proven experience implementing cloud-based data lakes, lakehouses, or enterprise data warehouses
- Track record delivering an enterprise data platform or modernization initiative end-to-end
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Azure DevOps, and REST APIs
- Solid communication and stakeholder/vendor management skills

Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate, TOGAF, DAMA CDMP, Power BI Certification
