About The Role The Director of Ultrasound Services will play an important role in the continued development of MedRay Imaging’s Ultrasound services. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week,and is well suited to an experienced healthcare leader who can balance clinical quality, leadership, operational performance, and strategic growth while building a robust and consistent Ultrasound Department across MedRay Imaging.
Your Key Responsibilities will include
· Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Ultrasound Department.
· Lead, support, and hold Ultrasound Managers accountable for departmental operations, staffing, performance, training, and patient care.
· Develop short- and long-term departmental plans to support patient access, service growth, operational capacity, and staffing requirements.
· Ensure consistent policies, procedures, clinical standards, and operational practices across all Ultrasound locations.
· Monitor departmental performance, including patient volumes, productivity, room utilization, staffing efficiency, quality measures, and service delivery.
· Oversee workforce planning and collaborate with Human Resources and Managers on recruitment, retention, leadership development, and succession planning.
· Maintain overall accountability for quality assurance, clinical standards, accreditation requirements, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement.
· Collaborate with Radiologists regarding ultrasound protocols, clinical quality, service delivery, and departmental requirements.
· Participate in departmental budget, equipment, resource, and capital planning in collaboration with Finance and executive leadership.
· Evaluate equipment, technology, systems, and service requirements to support current operations and future growth.
· Lead or oversee significant departmental projects, service expansions, new technology implementation, and operational changes.
· Identify opportunities to improve workflow, patient access, operational efficiency, employee development, and the overall patient experience.
· Provide senior leadership with recommendations, analysis, and updates regarding Ultrasound operations and strategic priorities.

· Appropriate discretion and confidentiality when managing employees, patients, and organizational information.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
· Formal education and training in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from a recognized/accredited program.
· Previous experience in a senior leadership role within diagnostic imaging or ultrasound.
· Experience with accreditation processes and quality improvement initiatives.
· Experience participating in service expansion, clinic development, equipment procurement, or implementation of new technologies.
· Additional education or training in healthcare leadership, business administration, management, or a related field is considered an asset.
