Length: 1 Hour Sessions- September - June

5 hours + other opportunities with PA days, camps

Position Overview

TAC Sports is seeking a Dramatic Arts Instructor to lead engaging and creative programming focused on acting, theatre, performance, creativity, and self-expression. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, has a passion for dramatic arts and performance, and can create a fun, supportive, and energetic learning environment.

The program introduces students to the fundamentals of dramatic arts through interactive lessons, theatre games, improvisation, storytelling, character development, and performance activities. Students will have opportunities to explore their creativity, build confidence, develop communication skills, and work collaboratively through various dramatic arts activities and performances.

Key Responsibilities

Lead dramatic arts sessions in a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment

Introduce students to the fundamentals of acting, theatre, improvisation, storytelling, and performance

Facilitate theatre games, improvisation exercises, role-playing, and creative activities

Help students develop confidence, creativity, self-expression, and stage presence

Guide students in developing characters, scenes, skits, and short performances

Teach basic performance techniques, including voice projection,



body language, movement, expression, and memorization

Encourage students to explore their imagination and express themselves creatively

Organize cooperative activities that promote teamwork, communication, and confidence

Provide constructive and encouraging feedback to help students improve their performance skills

Support students in preparing and rehearsing individual or group performances

Create an inclusive environment where students feel comfortable participating and expressing themselves

Supervise students throughout activities, transitions, and breaks to ensure safety and positive behaviour

Assist with program setup, cleanup, material preparation, and activity organization

Build positive relationships with students, families, and TAC Sports staff

Follow TAC Sports’ program plans, safety procedures, and child supervision standards at all times

Qualifications

Experience working with children in education, recreation, theatre, performing arts, tutoring, or youth programs

Strong interest or experience in dramatic arts, theatre, acting, or performance

Comfortable performing, presenting, and leading activities in front of groups

Energetic, creative, confident,



patient, and enthusiastic when working with children

Strong communication, teamwork, and group management skills

Ability to make dramatic arts activities fun, engaging, and accessible for students

Ability to encourage students with different personalities, confidence levels, and learning styles

Background in theatre, drama, performing arts, education, recreation, or a related field is an asset

First Aid/CPR certification and Vulnerable Sector Check, or willingness to obtain them, preferred
