Driven by the energy transition and the need to modernize existing assets, our projects cover the entire life cycle of these facilities, from preliminary studies to commissioning. To support the growth of our hydropower work, we’re looking for an electrical engineer specialized in electrical apparatus. You’ll be supported by experienced multidisciplinary teams and take part in major projects that draw on your technical skills and your understanding of high-power environments.

Design electrical power systems for hydroelectric power plants, including medium- and low-voltage switchgear Participate in preliminary and feasibility studies as well as detailed engineering Develop layout and installation engineering for electrical apparatus, including: Medium- and low-voltage bus ducts Low-voltage electrical power centres Prepare and review engineering deliverables, such as general arrangement drawings, elevations, construction details, single-line diagrams, material lists and cable schedules Perform or verify the electrical calculations required to size and select electrical apparatus and power cables Help select equipment, review vendor technical data and estimate quantities Draft technical specifications for installation work Coordinate your work with the other disciplines involved, including structural, civil, heavy and auxiliary mechanical, control and protection, building and architecture Conduct site surveys and visits,



help with technical support activities on site and during commissioning phases and participate in factory and site acceptance tests, when required Supervise the work of CEPs and technologists on the team Do your qualities and values match our corporate culture? University degree in electrical engineering Ten years of proven experience in electrical engineering, ideally in hydroelectric power plant projects or power installations Strong command of design methods for electrical power and distribution systems Experience with design software (e.g., AutoCAD and similar tools) Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including the Québec Electrical Code Group insurance plan from the first day of employment, including disability insurance and a telemedicine program Retirement savings plan Annual vacation and sick leave BBA considers many factors when determining the annual base salary, including the region, market, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, certifications and other relevant skills A flexible schedule that combines office presence and working from home On site and at the office: For over 45 years, we’ve been pushing the boundaries of engineering to serve our clients in the Energy and Natural Resources sector.
