Performs tradesperson level skilled work on building electrical maintenance and or new installation work as assigned by supervisor Completes time keeping and recording keeping work associated with the assigned tasks. Maintains safe working conditions. Troubleshoots operating problems and electrical failures related to building electrical systems.

Prepares for project work in the assigned areas of responsibility. Use typical tools machinery, and equipment related to the trade. Operates a light truck, Gators, or other similar vehicles.

Specialized Knowledge/Education

- Grade 12 (or equivalency)
- BC or interprovincial Red Seal electrical trades qualification.
- Safety training and knowledge of applicable codes and standards, and Work Safe BC regulations.
- Valid BC Class 5 driver's license.

Experience

- Minimum of four years' experience in the electrical trade as a journeyperson.

- Tradesman level competence with fire alarm, and electrical metering monitoring systems.
- Planning, organizing and monitoring day-to-day work activities and standards in a shop and/or plant setting.
- Familiarity with use of a computerized maintenance management work order system.
