The opportunity The Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick is seeking a reliable, hands-on and self-motivated Facilities Coordinator to help maintain and care for our recently acquired 15-acre property, lodge, trails and outdoor facilities. This position supports the ongoing maintenance, appearance, safety and functionality of one of the organization's most important physical assets.

This is a varied, year-round role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, solving practical problems and taking pride in maintaining a property to a high standard. Responsibilities range from groundskeeping and trail maintenance to snow removal, minor building repairs, event setup and general facility support.

Working closely with the Operations team, the Facilities Coordinator will help ensure the property remains safe, welcoming and well-maintained throughout all four seasons while supporting the operational needs of the organization.

Key responsibilities

· Perform winter maintenance activities including snow clearing, plowing, sanding, salting and maintaining safe building access during weather events.

· Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, weed control and seasonal landscaping.

· Maintain the appearance and functionality of lawns, gardens, flower beds, seasonal plantings and greenhouse areas.

· Inspect and maintain trails, bridges, signage, outdoor structures and common property areas to ensure safety and accessibility.

· Remove debris, deadfall, fallen branches and vegetation from trails, grounds and common areas.

· Operate equipment required for groundskeeping, property maintenance and seasonal operations.

· Complete minor repairs, painting, staining and general maintenance duties for the lodge, cabin and outdoor facilities.





· Identify maintenance issues requiring professional contractors and coordinate follow-up through the Operations team as required.

· Conduct routine property inspections and proactively identify safety concerns, damaged infrastructure and preventative maintenance requirements.

· Maintain a simple maintenance log to track inspections, completed work and follow-up items.

· Responsible for cleaning and all janitorial requirements for offices, washrooms, common areas and facility spaces.

· Assist with security checks, property monitoring and reporting of maintenance or safety concerns.

· Support room setup, furniture movement, event preparation and facility rentals as required.

· Assist with deliveries, storage organization and movement of equipment and supplies throughout the property.

· Complete other related facilities, maintenance and operational duties as required.

What you bring

· Current and clear criminal record check.

· Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record.

· Experience in facilities maintenance, property maintenance, groundskeeping, landscaping, building operations, custodial services or a related field.

· Practical knowledge of operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment.

· Ability to perform physical work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

· Experience performing basic repairs and preventative maintenance activities.

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

· Sound judgment and a strong commitment to workplace safety.





· Ability to identify maintenance issues and determine when specialized contractors or trades are required.

· Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to manage changing priorities and respond to weather-related or urgent maintenance needs.

· Experience with trail maintenance, landscaping, property care or rural property operations is considered an asset.

· Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record.

· Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends or outside regular hours during major weather events or operational needs.

· The property remains safe, accessible, clean and well-maintained throughout the year.

· Grounds, gardens, trails, walkways and outdoor facilities consistently present a professional and welcoming appearance.

· Preventative maintenance issues are identified and addressed before they become larger or more costly problems.

· Building access and outdoor areas remain safe and functional during winter conditions.

· Facilities, equipment and property assets are maintained responsibly and efficiently.

· The Operations team receives dependable support.

Compensation & Benefits Package includes

· $40,000 annual salary

· 35 hours per week, with flexible working hours based on seasonal requirements
