We are currently looking to hire our next outstanding team member for the position of Field Service Technician in Dartmouth. This is an ideal opportunity for a safety-focused technician who takes pride in troubleshooting, quality repairs, professional customer service, and working independently in the field.
What You'll Do
As a Field Service Technician, you'll support branch operations and customer field service needs by inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing company-owned and customer equipment. Your work helps keep aerial lifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, and related rental fleet assets operating safely and reliably.
- Perform field and branch-based inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on aerial lifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, and related rental fleet assets.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel-system, and other equipment issues using schematics, warning labels, equipment information, and approved service practices.
- Follow OEM repair schedules and complete assigned preventive maintenance requirements.
- Replace, recondition, and install parts on boom lifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, and related equipment.
- Identify wear, damage, recurring issues, safety concerns, and potential failures, and communicate required repairs or follow-up actions.
- Provide professional customer service while working at customer sites and representing Brunswick Lift Rentals in the field.
- Maintain accurate repair notes, service documentation, parts usage, time entries, and other required records.
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and work area, and follow all company and site safety procedures, including PPE, hazard awareness, safe driving, and stop-work expectations.

- You work independently while staying connected with Service, Dispatch, Operations, Parts, and branch teams.
- You take ownership of repair quality, communication, vehicle care, and follow-through.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and practical mechanical experience.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience repairing equipment, vehicles, heavy equipment, aerial lifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, small engines, or similar machinery.
- Ability to read and understand equipment schematics, warning labels, manufacturer guidance,
and service documentation.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work independently or as part of a team, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly.
- Basic computer or mobile device skills to complete service documentation, repair notes, time entries, and parts information.
- Ability to work legally in Canada.
Preferred
- Journeyperson or Red Seal certification.
- Experience in equipment rental, construction, industrial equipment, material handling, aerial lift, forklift, or heavy equipment service environments.
- Experience working independently in field service environments and on customer jobsites.
- Familiarity with OEM repair standards, preventive maintenance schedules, service documentation, and fleet readiness expectations.
- Additional equipment, safety, forklift, aerial lift, or manufacturer training.
