Full-time SupportStaff Position Prospect Department: Finance Mon – Fri (8:30 am – 4:30 pm) Reporting To: Manager, Planning and Reporting Campus Location: Oshawa (with occasional travel to Whitby campus) The role of the incumbent is to perform financial planning, financialanalysis, cash flow projections, tagging of capital and prepare internal andexternal reports for Durham College.

Specifically, the incumbent will assist in the preparation of budgets,aid in the submission of external and internal reports, maintain and developweekly cash flow projections,



ensure all capital is tagged and correctlyentered into the system, journal and budget entries and prepare monthly,quarterly and year-end reconciliations for Finance and Payroll. Reconcile and analyze accounts as required for monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and reporting requirements (including:deferred revenue, accrued liabilities and payroll accounts) Assist in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end audit and work with the external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process Prepare monthly payroll reporting for distribution internally Budget Planning, Preparation and Review: Assist with the maintenance of the FAST budget module to support integration, consolidation reporting and analysis of budget data Budget Tracking and General Ledger Maintenance: Validate capital accounts for all capital assets input into finance system before amortization process (i.e. move tags from temporary to permanent status) Perform a monthly internal audit for all journal vouchers entered by Finance department to ensure they meet the proper requirements Backup to General Ledger & Systems Support Office for Banner and FAST requests Maintain and develop an annual cash flow projection for Durham College Download on a weekly basis all actual cash transactions and adjust the cash flow projection for future activity Provide support to Payroll department for account reconciliations Capital Assets: Review activity in Capital Asset accounts on a monthly basis to ensure activity is recorded in appropriate accounts. Assess depreciation on Capital Assets and prepare schedule and journal entries to record.

Lead liaison for external capital audits at year-end. A minimum of a 4-year degree in Finance, Commerce or Accounting. A minimum of five (5) years of work experience developing, maintaining and controlling multi-divisional budget and financial systems is required.

Experience and knowledge of the postsecondary sector with direct experience in budgeting and forecasting, and recording capital assets is considered an asset. Effective interpersonal skills to deal with competing demands from various sources, ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, all while building and managing customer relationships. Working experience and knowledge/competence in the use of integrated financial systems and data management software tools to perform comprehensive analytical review procedures.

Must have reliable transportation to travel to Whitby campus to meet with budget holders regarding budgets, reporting and forecasting.
