The Academic Committee determines the positions of the Society on academic matters and assists the Vice-President, Academic and Commerce Student Senator in their respective efforts. The Academic Committee also oversees academic advocacy for students by communicating key student opinions to the Office of Student Academic Services (OSAS), the Dean's Office, and several Academic Caucuses.

- Eagerness and curiosity to learn
- Previous advocacy experience is an asset, but not required
