Job Summary
First Responder (FR) instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and comprehensive EMR training programs in accordance with national (e.g., Paramedic Association of Canada National Occupational Competency Profiles) and organizational standards (e.g., Canadian Red Cross). This role involves instructing theoretical knowledge, demonstrating practical skills, facilitating realistic scenarios, and evaluating student competency to ensure graduates are well-prepared to act as front-line emergency medical responders.
Responsibilities
- Deliver dynamic and engaging FR courses, including both theoretical classroom sessions and hands-on practical skill training.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, including lectures, discussions, demonstrations, skill drills, and realistic scenarios, to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Ensure all course content adheres to the latest FR protocols, guidelines, and curriculum requirements.
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all participants.
Curriculum & Material Management:
- Adhere strictly to the established FR curriculum and lesson plans provided by the certifying body by Canadian Red Cross).
- Prepare and organize all necessary teaching aids, equipment, and training supplies before each course.
- Keep up-to-date with current FR practices, equipment, and advancements in emergency medicine.
Experience
- Previous experience in a hospital or emergency medical setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with patient care protocols is essential.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology is required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
- Experience working in high-pressure environments is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- May involve working evenings and weekends to accommodate course schedules.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
- May involve lifting and moving training equipment (e.g., mannequins, stretchers).
- Training may take place in various settings, including classrooms, simulation labs, and potentially outdoor environments.
Job Type: Casual Pay: $275.00 per day
