Job Summary The Foreign Currency Cashier is responsible for processing foreign currency exchange transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires strong attention to detail, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the ability to handle large cash volumes in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Buy and sell foreign currencies in accordance with company rates and policies
- Accurately calculate and process currency exchange transactions
- Verify customer identification and complete required AML/KYC documentation
- Detect counterfeit currency and suspicious transactions
- Balance cash drawer and reconcile transactions at the beginning and end of each shift
- Maintain proper records of all transactions in the POS system
- Ensure compliance with FINTRAC and internal compliance policies
- Provide excellent customer service and answer client inquiries regarding exchange rates and services
- Promote additional services (e.g., wire transfers, drafts, remittance services, etc.)
- Maintain branch cleanliness and professional presentation standards
- Report discrepancies or suspicious activity to the Branch Manager immediately





Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in finance or business is an asset)
- Previous cash handling or retail banking experience preferred
- Experience in currency exchange, financial services, or banking is an asset
- Robust mathematical skills and accuracy in calculations
- Familiarity with AML/KYC regulations (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
