Job Summary

Gibson Farms is seeking a dependable and versatile Forklift & Warehouse Operations Associate to support our packhouse, storage, shipping, and receiving operations.

This is a hands-on, flexible position. While forklift operation is a major part of the role, the successful candidate will be expected to assist wherever needed to keep the facility operating efficiently. Responsibilities may include feeding the packing line, moving fruit and packaging materials, loading and unloading trucks, filling and organizing controlled-atmosphere (CA) storage rooms, receiving supplies, and supporting general packhouse and warehouse operations.

The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and willing to take on different responsibilities depending on daily operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Forklift & Material Handling

- Safely operate forklifts to move fruit bins, packed product, pallets, packaging materials, and other supplies throughout the facility.
- Supply the packing line with fruit, cardboard, pallets, packaging materials, and other required items.
- Remove finished product from the packing line and move it to the appropriate storage or shipping location.
- Help maintain consistent product and material flow to minimize packing line downtime.
- Move and organize product between the packhouse, warehouse, cold storage, yard, and shipping areas.

Cold Storage & CA Room Operations

- Assist with filling controlled-atmosphere (CA)



and refrigerated storage rooms during harvest.
- Organize fruit bins according to variety, grower/farm, lot, harvest date, and storage requirements.
- Assist with opening, emptying, and reorganizing storage rooms as fruit is required for packing.
- Help ensure storage rooms are filled safely, efficiently, and according to management direction.
- Follow proper procedures when moving fruit into or out of refrigerated and CA storage rooms.

Shipping & Receiving

- Pick and stage product for customer orders.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Confirm product and quantities before loading.
- Assist with shipping and receiving documentation when required.
- Receive packaging materials, supplies, fruit, and other incoming goods.
- Ensure received materials are moved to the appropriate storage location.

Packhouse & General Operations

- Assist the packing line, shipping department, storage operations, and other areas when required.
- Help with production changeovers, packaging materials, pallet preparation, and other operational tasks.
- Maintain clean and organized warehouse, storage, shipping, and yard areas.
- Communicate material shortages, product issues, equipment concerns, or other operational problems to management.
- Assist with general facility and yard work as required.
- Perform other duties as required to support daily operations.

Qualifications





- Forklift experience required; valid forklift certification preferred.
- Experience operating counterbalance forklifts in warehouse, agricultural, food production, or similar environments is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated and controlled-atmosphere storage environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work when required.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting a team.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Experience in fruit packing, produce, agriculture, food production, warehousing, or shipping is an asset.
- Willingness to work increased hours during harvest and peak production periods.

Hours & Seasonality This is a full-time position with hours that vary throughout the year based on production and harvest requirements. Fall is the busiest period and may require longer days, overtime, and occasional weekend work. Summer and other slower periods may have reduced hours.

Compensation & Benefits

- $21.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
