No Limits Underground Ltd. is hiring 2 HDD Locators to join our directional drilling crews.

This is a field-based utility construction position. Applicants must have a valid driver’s licence and be available and willing to work out of town as required by project schedules.

Pay: $28.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications and demonstrated ability.

We are looking for reliable, safety-minded individuals with HDD locating experience who understand underground utility construction and can work effectively with a drill operator and ground crew.

Responsibilities

- Locate and track the HDD drill head throughout pilot bores
- Maintain required depth, pitch, alignment and utility clearances
- Communicate continuously with the drill operator
- Assist with bore planning and identification of utility conflicts
- Verify existing utilities and crossing clearances
- Record bore depths and installation information as required
- Assist with potholing and daylighting
- Assist with tooling, reaming, product pullbacks and general drilling operations
- Assist with drilling fluid and mud management
- Perform daily inspections and properly care for locating equipment
- Assist the drilling crew with general field duties when not actively locating
- Follow company safe work procedures and project-specific requirements

Requirements
- Previous HDD locating experience required
- Valid driver’s licence required
- Must be available and willing to work out of town
- Strong understanding of HDD locating, pitch, depth and steering




- Experience working around existing underground utilities
- Ability to understand utility drawings, bore plans and crossing requirements
- Strong communication skills with drill operators and ground personnel
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather and ground conditions
- Physically capable of performing field construction work
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a production crew
- Strong commitment to safe work practices

Assets
- Experience with DigiTrak locating systems
- Telecom, electrical or underground utility construction experience
- Experience with larger HDD equipment or longer bores
- Experience in gravel, cobble or difficult ground conditions
- Additional licence classes or equipment operating experience
