Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Pharmacy, the Drug Access Facilitator facilitates, coordinates and evaluates the available programs and resources to access medication reimbursement assistance for MGH patients. This includes reviewing and obtaining patient’s medication history and medication reconciliation, with a primary focus on renal and oncology patients. This role will be a central resource for physicians, nurses, social workers, and pharmacists.

The incumbent will play a key role in advising patients, families, caregivers and healthcare professionals regarding medication access and reimbursement and will actively engage with government, community and private agencies that provide medication financial assistance.

Current opportunities available: renal and oncology, reduced full-time option negotiable (0.7-1.0 FTE) A registered regulated healthcare professional with a degree in a relevant healthcare field (ie. 2 years recent and related drug access facilitator/navigator qualified experience preferred, in a healthcare setting. ~ Demonstrated experience working in electronic health record environments (CPOE, eMAR, electronic documentation, or closed loop med administration etc) liaising and working with with third party payers (insurance companies, ODB) and managing online pharmacy billing, an asset ~ MS Office, etc) is preferred ~ All employees of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH),
