Healthcare Aides - Casual Positions Available!

Shifts:

- Days: 0700 – 1500
- Evenings: 1500 – 2300
- Nights: 2300 – 0700
- Casual team members may pick up shifts based on availability and operational needs

Wage:

- $31.64 per hour
- Wage increases at 1500 hours worked
- Additional increases at 2500, 5000, 7500, and 10,000 hours worked

- Completion of probation to end of Year 2 – 1% match

Our residence: Opened in 2021, The Vineyards Residence is a state-of-the-art five-storey, 134-suite residence offering Enhanced Assisted Living and Memory Care services to the Okanagan region.

Our residence is designed around small neighbourhoods of 16–17 suites, creating a comfortable, home-like environment where residents build meaningful relationships with their caregivers and neighbours.

This neighbourhood model allows our team to provide personalized, resident-centered care while fostering familiarity, comfort, and connection.

Position Summary:

The Health Care Aide (HCA) provides direct personal care and support to residents, assisting with activities of daily living while promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life.

HCAs work collaboratively within the neighbourhood care model to support residents across day, evening, and night shifts, ensuring compassionate, safe, and high-quality care at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Care:

- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Encourage residents to maintain independence whenever possible
- Support residents with nutrition, hydration, and meal service
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition

Care Team Support:

- Work collaboratively with nurses, care aides, and leadership
- Support a positive and respectful team environment
- Assist with shift routines and resident care coordination





Documentation & Communication:

- Complete electronic documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate resident updates to team members and leadership
- Ensure care provided is properly recorded

Resident Engagement:

- Provide companionship and meaningful interaction with residents
- Support residents in maintaining a sense of purpose and belonging
- Foster a warm, respectful, and engaging environment

Safety & Quality Care:

- Follow safety protocols for residents and team members
- Support infection prevention and control practices
- Identify and report safety concerns

Qualifications:

- BC Care Aide Registry in valuable standing (required)
- Criminal Record Check – Vulnerable Sector
- Current First Aid / CPR Certification (preferred)
- WHMIS Certification

Experience:

- Experience supporting residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease preferred
- Graduation from a recognized Health Care Aide program
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
