Duties
- Perform comprehensive automotive repairs, including engine diagnostics, brake servicing, and transmission work using various hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct welding tasks to repair or modify vehicle components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and schematics.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues accurately and efficiently, following detailed schematics and assembly instructions.
- Maintain and service equipment through regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate techniques and equipment to handle large parts safely.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, and manuals to guide repairs and assembly processes.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction with the work performed.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair or related fields.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with brand-specific systems and procedures.
- Skilled in welding techniques, including arc welding and MIG welding, with the ability to perform precise repairs.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for various repair tasks.
- Knowledge of schematics, assembly instructions, and technical manuals to facilitate accurate repairs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of routine maintenance or repair activities.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong problem-solving skills; previous experience working with automotive or heavy machinery is preferred.
- Solid customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repair processes and timelines.
