Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator will contribute to our safety first production operations by regularly inspecting, repairing, and maintaining mobile equipment and stationary equipment as required to minimize downtime, and to further advance our continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Work Locations Include: Windermere and/or Canal Flats British Columbia

Shift: Monday to Thursday - Day Shift

Responsibilities:

- Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Operation of heavy equipment (Front end loader, haul truck, dozer, skid steer)
- Operation of rock crushing plant
- Perform duties such as shoveling, sweeping, cleaning and lifting
- Must be comfortable with filling in paperwork
- Other duties as required.

Requirements

- Reliable, punctual and health-safety-environment conscious
- Minimum grade 12 education
- Team oriented individual
- Must have versatile skills and be able to handle various job tasks
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Preference:

- Valid BC Mines Blasting Certification
- Valid BC Mines Shift Boss Certification
- Drilling Experience
- Valid Class 3 or 1 Drivers License.

Working Conditions:

- The unionized mine operates on a 5 days per week schedule
- This is a permanent, full-time position (Days)
- This position will be based at Windermere and/or Canal Flats British Columbia
- Mine and RHP operations are operated outdoor with exposure to weather conditions, dust, noise, industrial solvents and lubricants
- Ability to walk extended distances across rough terrain, climb slopes that are commonly encountered in a quarry environment
- Occasionally lift 50 lbs.
- Bending, stooping and climbing




- Must be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards, whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated.
