We are seeking an experienced Helicopter Quality Inspector to join our aerospace team. Reporting to the Quality and Compliance leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring aircraft airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and product quality throughout the inspection, maintenance, repair, and production processes.
This position is responsible for performing detailed inspections of helicopters, aircraft components, engines, structures, and systems while ensuring compliance with Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) regulations, approved maintenance programs, and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Airworthiness Compliance
Perform airworthiness inspections and approve aircraft, engines, components, and systems for Return to Service (RTS).
Review and validate Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Alert Service Bulletins, and maintenance records.
Issue TCCA Form One and other applicable airworthiness documentation.
Verify compliance of life-limited and cycle-limited components.
Review preservation programs and maintenance intervals for aircraft and engines.
Validate inspections and testing of ELTs, transponders, altimeters, airspeed indicators, air data computers, and aircraft static systems.
Witness operational and functional tests of aircraft radios and navigation systems.
Conduct dimensional, functional, and operational inspections using precision measuring equipment.
Inspect aircraft structures for cracks, corrosion, damage, assembly accuracy, and overall serviceability.
Perform receiving, conformity, hidden damage, and in-process inspections.
Inspect and disposition components as serviceable, repairable, or scrap.
Verify aircraft wiring harnesses, connectors, electrical terminations, and instrument installations.
Review engineering drawings, technical reports, specifications,
and maintenance documentation.
Ensure proper tagging, traceability, and certification documentation for all aircraft parts and components.
Support aircraft registration, flight permit, and Certificate of Airworthiness application activities.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Support the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
Assist with internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
Support non-conformance investigations and corrective action processes.
Participate in root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives.
Monitor quality performance metrics and KPIs.
Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
Provide guidance and training to technicians regarding quality requirements, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Support First Pass Yield (FPY) and operational quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Aviation, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent industry experience.
Valid TCCA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License required.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of aircraft quality inspection, airworthiness, or regulatory compliance experience.
Alternatively, 15 years of combined experience in Quality Assurance, aircraft maintenance, and airworthiness inspection may be considered.
Airbus helicopter experience is highly preferred.
Airbus H125, H130, and H135 Type Training is considered a robust asset.
Required Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of TCCA regulations and airworthiness requirements.
Experience with aircraft inspections, conformity reviews, and certification processes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, technical publications, and regulatory documentation.
Experience working with aircraft structures, systems, engines, and components.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively with technicians, engineers, management, regulators, and customers.
Customer-facing experience related to aircraft delivery and documentation is an asset.
