Join the University of New Brunswick as a Shift Operator 1 in Fredericton, specializing in high-pressure steam heating plant operations. This full-time role offers hands-on experience in boiler operation and maintenance. As part of the Capital Planning & Operations team, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Central Heating Plant's five boilers.

You will also be responsible for maintaining clean and secure working conditions while adapting to new technologies. This position includes varied day shifts and must adhere to strict safety regulations and maintenance protocols. Key Responsibilities:

- Operate high-pressure steam heating plant equipment safely
- Order, receive, and manage wood samples for boilers




- Ensure clear pathways for delivery and maintenance actions
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on relevant equipment
- Maintain safety and compliance in the plant environment Requirements:
- Valid third class Power Engineer License
- Knowledge of lock-out/tag-out permit procedures
- Experience with high-pressure heating systems preferred
- Capability to manage emergency situations in the plant
