Join CCHR as a Housing Lawyer in Toronto, a remote position with some in-office requirements. Drive tenant rights using your expertise in Ontario housing law and case management. CCHR is seeking a dedicated Housing Lawyer to support vulnerable tenants in Ontario.
This full time position requires service-oriented skills and significant knowledge of housing law. You will manage a caseload, represent clients, and collaborate across teams to advance housing rights. Your commitment helps ensure that low-income renters navigate legal challenges effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent tenants at the Landlord and Tenant Board of Ontario
- Engage in mediation with housing providers on behalf of clients
- Maintain accurate case notes and enter data into management systems
- Conduct outreach to build relationships with community partners
- Facilitate workshops about housing rights and laws Requirements:
- Ontario lawyer with a minimum of 3 years of experience
- Experience at the Landlord and Tenant Board required
- Strong understanding of housing law and social equity issues
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software As a Housing Lawyer, utilize your legal expertise to empower the community through tenant advocacy.
